This wine is a 100% Negroamaro from vineyards planted in San Pietro Vernotico (Brindisi). The grapes are hand harvested between 6 and 18 September. Then the must is transferred in stainless steel tanks, where the fermentation takes place at 16°C. Before being bottled ,the divine juice refines in stainless steel tanks on its yeasts. Salute!
The wine has a pink color. The intensity is pale.
The aroma intensity is medium plus. The nostrils are bewitched by scent of roses and hints of ripe raspberry, cranberry, with light notes peach, litchis, kiwi and watermelon. Another sniff, and balsamic notes of thyme and fresh grass comes out, along with perfumes of lemon peel and blossom.
In the mouth, the wine is dry with medium level of acidity and low tannins. The alcohol is medium (i.e. 12 %). On the palate, we find crunch red fruit, and tropical flavor of litchis, kiwi, water melon. There is also a sprinkle of vanilla and white pepper, with a sharp and fresh mineral note. Flavor intensity and lasting are medium plus.
This Negroamaro Rosato has been one of the best surprises of this summer. Along with other pink nectars, it let me revalue the Apulian rosé wines as excellent alternative to the Provencal ones. The aromatic bouquet is characterized by hints of ripe raspberry, cranberry, but also tropical flavor of litchis, kiwi and watermelon. It has a lovely texture on the palate, and its minerality makes it cheerful like the water in the middle of desert.
