This nectar is a 100% Friulano (formerly called Tocai). The grapes ferment at 16°C and then the divine juice ages on lees for 8 months in stainless steel tanks, and further 5 months in the bottle. Salute!
The wine has a lemon gold color with green shades. The intensity is medium to pale.
The aroma intensity is medium plus. Immediately fragrances of jasmine and acacia come out from the glass, followed by hints of nectarine, apricot and pear. All this sweetness is balanced by notes of citrus, blossom, green apple. There is also a feeble hint of pineapple. The minerality if given by notes of wet stone and flint. The aging on the lees favored the development of hints such bread dough and brioche.
In the mouth, the wine is dry with high level of acidity. On the palate, the flavor intensity is pronounced. The stone fruit is riper and more succulent, the pineapple is more marked. The freshness is still given by the citrusy hint and by a lovely minerality, never rude. There are also delicate tertiary notes remembering the almond, hay and a honey. The lasting is long.
Already at the first sip, my mum told to my dad: “remember it! We need to buy it again”…. So any other comments would be useless. This nectar has everything you want from a great wine. It is balanced, it has intensity and lasting…and it is very elegant. The aromatic bouquet is rich, but never byzantine, the sweetness of the fruit is glorified by refreshing savory and mineral notes. A great wine, perfect by its own as aperitif, but also to wash down a langoustine tartare.
