This nectar is a blend of 50% Piedirosso and 50% Aglianico from vineyards planted on costal terraces set at 200/550m asl with southerly exposure. The grapes are hand harvested during the last 10 days of October, when they are fully ripe. Then they are destemmed and crushed before undergoing fermentation with intense maceration for 30 days. After the malolactic fermentation, the divinejuice ages for 12 months in new French oak barrique. Salute!


The wine has an elegant ruby color. The intensity is deep.


The aroma intensity is medium plus. The primary aromas remember the ripe sour cherry, black wild berries, plum, but also a sharp note of black pepper. After few minutes, hints of ripe strawberry and fine jam come out. The secondary aromas include cedar, vanilla, toast and dark chocolate, while the tertiaries are leather, dry blackberry and meat.


In the mouth, the wine is dry with high level of acidity. The tannins are medium plus. The alcohol is high (i.e. 14 %), and it gives a nice heatwave. On the palate, the flavor intensity is pronounced. Immediately notes of charred wood and toast take the stage, followed by hints of black cherry and black pepper. Amongst the primaries, there are also a sharp note of fruits preserved in alcohol, and a savory aroma remembering the caper. The secondaries are vanilla, cloves, dark chocolate and the already mentioned charred wood and toast. The range of tertiaries is wider on the palate than at the nose. We taste meat, leather, prune, fig. The lasting is long, with the charred wood and black cherry preserved in alcohol lingering for quite some time.


A very charming blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso, whose aromatic bouquet is a triumph of sour cherry, wild berry fruits and spices, elegantly combined with masculine notes of charred wood and smoke. On the palate, the flavors are even more concentrated, and the nectar is incredibly round and smooth. It is ready to drink now, but more bottle aging may donate further complexity.
