Maccone Negroamaro Bianco 2018
This nectar is a 100% Negroamaro. The grapes, manually harvested at the end of September, are gently pressed and ferment in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The divine nectar matures in steel, and ages for a month in the bottle before the market release. Salute!
The wine has a lemon gold color with green shades. The intensity is pale.
The aroma intensity is medium. In the glass, there are feminine floral perfume of jasmine, followed by hints of nectarine, lemon zest and green almond. There is also a refreshing balsamic notes of grass and a quite sharp minerality.
In the mouth, the wine is dry with high level of acidity. On the palate, the flavor intensity is medium plus. We find a not still ripe stone fruits, a bitter almond, a feeble reminiscent of melon, a surprising scent of fresh oregano, but also a steely note . The lasting is long.
My first still Blanc de Noirs. It is an appreciable exercise in style, but I am not fully convinced about the final result. Its aromatic bouquet sweeps from hints of stone fruits to steely notes, with also scent of fresh oregano. The flavors are well combined, and the nectar has a good intensity and lasting, but it does not thrill.
