This nectar is a blend of 51% Rara Neagră and 49% Malbec. The grapes are still hand-picked. After the fermentation, the divine juice ages for 12 months in French oak barriques. Sănătate!
In the glass the wine has purple colour .The intensity is deep also along the rims.
The aromas intensity is medium plus. Immediately a nice fragrance of black currant, which as usual with other Rara Neagră based wine, remember not only the fresh fruits but also the yogurt aromatized with it. Swirling the glass, flavours of raisins, ripe black cheery and jam come out. The floral note of iris and the refreshing hint of mint give some dynamicity to the aromatic bouquet. The secondary aromas remember the vanilla, a light toast, an elegant cedar, a pinch nutmeg and Caribbean tobacco. The tertiaries are feebler, but there are hints of dry cranberry and game.
In the mouth, the wine is dry with a medium high acidity. The tannins are medium, and they don’t leave any astringent or grippy sensation. The alcohol is medium (i.e. 13%) but it gives a nice heat wave. The flavour intensity is pronounced. On the palate, the fruit is even riper with a marked hint of prune. There is also an intense and sharp note of black pepper, and more delicate perfumes of lavender and medicinal. The spectrum of secondary aromas is wider, and includes also a lively cloves and chocolate. The flavour lasting is long.
This limited edition blend is another pleasant wine produced by Purcari. As its brothers, also this nectar is generous with lot of ripe black fruits and spices. The secondary aromas are well defined, while the tertiaries are still lagging a bit. As usual with Purcari, the wine’s flavour intensity and lasting are considerable.
