Pinot Noir 2018
This nectar is a 100% Pinor Noir. The grapes are still hand-picked. After the fermentation, the divine juice ages for 6 months in French oak barriques. Sănătate!
In the glass the wine has a ruby colour with some purple hues. The intensity is medium to deep.
The aromas intensity is pronounced. Immediately a very sweet strawberry indulges our nostrils. Then we smell a ripe red cherry and sharp kirsch. A kaleidoscope of spices, amongst which the vanilla and cinnamon stand out, enriches the red fruits. There are also charming note of iris and violet. As tertiary aromas, there is a feeble farmyard, typical of this grape, and a more intense dried cranberry, meat and gunpowder.
In the mouth, the wine is dry with a medium high acidity and tannins. The alcohol is medium (i.e. 13%) but it gives a nice heat wave. The flavour intensity is pronounced. On the palate, the fruit is ripe, remembering more the preserved in alcohol fruit than the cooked one. The secondary aromas donated by the oak aging are clearer at the palate. There are hints of charred wood, toast, a sharp cloves and vanilla. The tertiaries remember again the meat and the dried cranberry. The flavour lasting is medium plus.
I am quite sure that in a blind tasting most of us would guess having in front of them a glass of fine Pinot Noir from Chambolle Musigny. This nectar is so delicate and feminine, but with a quite pronounced flavour intensity. It is a triumph of ripe red fruits, graced by floral fragrances, spices and toasty notes. It is pure pleasure by its own, perfect with a charcuterie board or also to wash down a rare fillet…without philosophical foolish aspirations after dinner.
